So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, good night...

posted by Michael Lee
There's a sad sort of clanging from the clock in the hall
And the bells in the steeple too
And up in the nursery an absurd little bird
Is popping out to say "cuckoo"

Regretfully they tell us Cuckoo, cuckoo
But firmly they compel us Cuckoo, cuckoo
To say goodbye . . . to you

So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, good night
I hate to go and leave this pretty sight

So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, adieu
Adieu, adieu, to yieu and yieu and yieu

So long, farewell, au revoir, auf wiedersehen
I'd like to stay and taste my first champagne

So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, goodbye
I leave and heave a sigh and say goodbye -- Goodbye!
I'm glad to go, I cannot tell a lie
I flit, I float, I fleetly flee, I fly
The sun has gone to bed and so must I

So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, goodbye
Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye

We leave for Gaming, Austria 30 days from today. It is time for me to say auf Wiedersehen to the blog for the time being. I hope to rejoin once we get settled. However, that won't be for some time, I expect.

Thanks to my blog and podcast partners and very dear friends - Mike and Brent. You guys have done so much to help me develop as a disciple and a student. I am indebted to you forever!

To those who read the blog...thanks for stopping by and putting up with me. I learned more from writing and posting than you ever did in reading. May God bless you as you grow in his Son.

Finally, to my Lord and my God. You are ever faithful and have shown forth your generosity and love in so many miraculous ways. I have absolutely no idea why you would ever call a sinner such as myself - but I am so grateful for your merciful love. Let me only do your will and bring glory to your holy Name.

May God bless you all. Please pray for me and my family - that we serve the Lord with courage, boldness, humility, and love...

Oh my... So many jokes spring to mind about us getting rid of you on Independence Day... :P

Seriously tho, you will be missed. I look forward, with great anticipation, to your first Austrian post where you tell us all about life at a Pontifical University :)

Oh my... so many jokes spring to mind about Mike and his family dancing about the Alps in Liederhosen... wow!

Yes, you will be missed. I know it will take me awhile to stop dialing your cell phone when I want to tell you something interesting, or get a cup of coffee.

In the future, when students are studying your work, hopefully they will find the "Idaho Years" as interesting as the the "Austrian Years" - I know we will.

Mike Lee in Lederhosen. You sure know how to evoke an image, Mike E.

God be with you and your family, Mike L.

Do enjoy. The Alps are absolutely breath-taking (no other word quite describes it). Since you will be close, do make sure to visit Zagreb, it is quite a beautiful city, most people miss it because it is not seen as one of the more common major European cities. Thank you for all the good work you have done.
